ABOUT THIS DEPARTMENT
Sharir Kriya’s department deals with the normal functioning of human body and dysfunctions as well. It emphasizes the connection of dosha (energies/ body humours) Dhatu (Body tissues) and Malas
(Excretory products). Prakriti Parikshan (Identifying individual body and mind constitution), strotas,
Koshtha, Agni, Oja, Mana, Ahar (Basic principles of Nutrition), and Shatkriyakal are important topics
that come in kriya sharira. All this knowledge helps in the critical understanding of the disease process
and insights into disease management and prevention.
The department has self-explanatory charts, various models and a well-equipped laboratory to carry out
all practicals in the curriculum. The department library is provided with 103 books which help the
students to better understand the subject matter.

ABOUT THIS DEPARTMENT
Samhita- Siddhant department is the first and most important department of Ayurveda. This
department deals with the study of basic principles of Ayurveda which are described in classical
treatise. Samhitas are basically written in Samskrit hence for better understanding of samhita,
Sanskrit is taught as a subject. This Department connects to all four year examination of BAMS
course with subjects i.e. Sanskrit, Padarth Vidnyana and Ayurved Ithihas. Maulik Siddhant evam
Astanga Hridaya .Charaka Samhita purvardha and Uttarardha and research methodology.These
subjects is base of Ayurveda. Main vision of this Department is to prepare skilled ayurvedic scholars
by empowering with application of basic concepts of Ayurved in upholding the doctrine physical,

ABOUT THIS DEPARTMENT
As per Ayurveda, Sharir means physical body and Rachana Sharir means the structural study of the
Human body based on the syllabus. This department deals with detailed study of the structural
aspects of the human body as per Ayurvedic and modern view.
Department comprises an ample museum with scores of anatomical charts, models, specimens and
other amenities, also providing students a voluminous and airy dissection hall for the cadaveric
Dissection and other practical activities.

ABOUT THIS DEPARTMENT
This department is intensively engaged in theoretical and practical training to the undergraduate
students of second professional BAMS. It is an important subject as it bridges the non clinical and
clinical subjects and prepares the students for the clinics by giving very first exposure to the
clinical diagnosis.
The department trains the students to apply knowledge and fundamental principles of Ayurveda to
practice by understanding the disease-patient interaction, clearing diagnosis and prognosis. This
department gives hands-on training to the students on pathological investigations, sample
collection and clinical examination of patients for which a well-equipped pathology laboratory
with is attached to the department for hematological, Biochemistry and Microbiological
investigations. We also trained the students on imaging techniques like X-ray, CT, MRI, USG etc.

ABOUT THIS DEPARTMENT
Agada Tantra is one of the eight branches of Ayurveda. This department deals with the
study of toxins of both animate and inanimate origin. It also deals with Forensic Modern and
Medical Jurisprudence (Medical aspect of Law and legal aspects of Medicine). Our Agada Tantra
department has a museum where we display pictorial illustrations of various aspects of Forensic
Medicine and Toxicology, Specimens of Poisonous Substances and also models related to the
subject. The departmental library is provided with 105 books.

ABOUT THIS DEPARTMENT
Bhaishajya Kalpana encompasses the pharmaceutical aspects of Ayurveda, focusing on the
preparation, formulation, and dosage of various medicinal remedies. It teaches the process of
transforming drugs to enhance their qualities, either by introducing new properties or improving
existing ones, ultimately ensuring their safety and efficacy.
On the other hand, Rasashastra, also known as Ayurvedic Pharmaceutics, primarily deals with
mineral-based drugs, covering their types, characteristics, processing methods, properties, and
therapeutic applications. It includes detailed descriptions of apparatus, furnaces, heating devices,
and schedules used in drug preparation.
Through the art and skill of formulation, poisonous substances can be rendered safe and
effective, while simple drugs can be transformed into potent remedies. Thus, Ayurveda
emphasizes comprehensive knowledge of drugs, their preservation, and dispensing,
encapsulated under the broad domains of Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana.

ABOUT THIS DEPARTMENT’
Dravyaguna department deals with the quality (Pharmacognostical/ Pharmacological) of drugs
(Herbal/Mineral/animal Origin products etc). Dravyaguna department is working in the field of
academics and research for understanding the classical principles behind each medicine and
scientific validation of our classical wealth.
Museum of this department have dry and wet specimen, photographs of rare medicinal plants
with informative charts. Department has a well equipped laboratory for the Pharmacognostical
studies. Herbal garden under this department have a total number of 900 medicinal plants with
more than 250 species. The departmental library is provided with 102 books for better utility to
the students.

ABOUT THIS DEPARTMENT
Deals with Ayurvedic Preventive & Social Medicine- the Promotion and maintenance of health by means of Dinacharya (daily regimen), Rithucharya (seasonal regimen) Ayurvedic dietetics and Sadvritta (ethical practices) for the prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
The Department also deals with the practice of Yoga, especially for the prevention and management
of lifestyle diseases. The department is equipped with experienced faculties, a spacious and properly ventilated Yoga Hall and an enormous collection of models, charts and specimens related to the subject.
